I've been waiting for a conclusion to my saga before posting the synopsis. I moved from Pittsburgh, PA to Long Island, New York at the end of June and had set up my initial install for July 3. July 3rd came and went, installer no show (a Directv scheduling gaff). Next install July 5...

I've trying to get through all day to activate my new DVR and the system is still down. This is inexcusable for a company as large as D*. There should be a reasonable back up plan in place.

I'm assuming there are still a great amount of problems. I had an 80hr DirecTivo installed this morning and it won't connect to the dial in numbers and every time I try to call D* to activate it I get a busy signal.

Locals back here also. Down for approx. an hour. For Scott or anyone in the know, what happened?

I finally got through and got a recorded message stating that they are having problems with my locals and are working to resolve the issue.

I'm in Philly and sometime around 8:30-8:45 this evening all the locals went down. All I'm getting from calling 1800-Directv is a busy signal. Any other markets lose their locals? Anyone know what's going on?
