    VOOM Installations

My installer wanted to charge an additional $60 to install 2 coaxes instead of one. He could have run the 2 together and he had dual coax cable. The run was about 90 feet. I figure at 10 cents a foot, which is high for bulk quantities, thats $9, plus dual thru bushings say $1 and a few extra...

VOOM OTA Mapping Problems? (Channels listed are not as expected)

Received this yesterday: John, Saw your note to Wilt. I have passed on your info regarding off-airs to our listings provider, and requested they add whatever they can receive schedules for. Timeline is dependent on how quick stations provide data, but we have been adding these hot & heavy...

Sorry to say but I won't be Vooming anymore! (Edit: Totally Back)

You may be right. Scanning is definitely a step in the right direction as the OTA stations will be received. The weak link is the complete and accurate database for the program guide. If each OTA station has its own program info and the software would use that info for the guide, there would...

Sorry to say but I won't be Vooming anymore! (Edit: Totally Back)

Will this require mapping? If so, will we have the same problems we have now? How will the software detect which channels have been scanned in order to provide the guide? If each channel has a unique identifier will the software detect it? Will we again be relying on a complete and accurate...

Sorry to say but I won't be Vooming anymore! (Edit: Totally Back)

Do you know if the new software will provide a program guide for the OTA channels along with the scanning feature, will it populate the guide with program data received from each digital OTA channel?

    SW-64 do's and don'ts - installation questions

Another solution for a 2 LNB, 1-4 IRD (receiver) install is a Quad LNB. For 3LNB, 1-4 IRD install, cascade w/ SW21 for each receiver. Quad does not require power inserter.

Need some expert voomers, doing the install right now

My installer didn't use the tune-up screen. He also forgot the remote and the OTA antenna, which he delivered the next day. He just said the satellite icon on the Voom box was the right color. I maxed the signal with a BirDog after he left.

VOOM OTA Mapping Problems? (Channels listed are not as expected)

Sean, TIA :) Email sent 3/30 Channels mapped: 8-1 KSBWD1 (Received by DSR-550 and other OTA tuner with same OTA antenna) Channels shown by Zap2it and NOT mapped: 11.1 KNTVDT (Received by other OTA tuner with same OTA antenna) 36.1 KICUDT (Received by other OTA tuner with same OTA...

If the dish comes with a dual LNB (the thing that sticks out in front of the dish) it has 2 connections for a cable to EACH receiver ( 2 cables total). No need for a multiswitch.
