    Channel Master CM-7779HD PreAmp

I now have the Televes up on the roof about 3 feet from the antenna. From there the coax goes to a 3 way splitter and then into the house in 3 separate locations. It is a new Channelmaster power passing splitter and the preamp works great now. I did replace the RG6 coax from the splitter down to...

    Channel Master CM-7779HD PreAmp

Just installed the Televes preamp. When I put it up on the antenna mast I received no channels on any TV in the house. The power LED on the outside unit (mounted on the mast) seemed very dim but I attributed that to the brightness of a sunny day. Out of curiosity I moved the unit inside and...

    Channel Master CM-7779HD PreAmp

It's on the antenna mast up on my roof. I had the same thought about overheating. As of now I've ordered and received the Televes unit mentioned above, haven't installed it yet. Will post results when I get it installed.

    Channel Master CM-7779HD PreAmp

So I got this preamp and installed it, worked great I thought, my TV saw 88 channels on the initial scan with the preamp, vs. 32 channels without it. The only problem is that it only works for a few hours at a time, then something happens and all channels disappear. Unplugging the preamp doesn't...

Channel Master Pro-Model UHF/VHF Outdoor TV Antenna Review

I just installed one of these to replace an old Winegard HD8200. This one works just as well and is much less visually intrusive. I'm in San Diego so I get a bunch of Mexican stations in addition to the stations I see listed on rabbitears. I did not buy the UHF or VHF extensions. I am receiving...

Standalone ATSC receiver with good signal strength display?

I ordered the Mediasonic HW-150PVR from Amazon - should be here today. I've been trying to use an old Samsung SIR-T-451 with a DVI to HDMI adapter - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't - don't know why. The sensitivity is not very good on the Samsung, but the picture is good on the channels...

Standalone ATSC receiver with good signal strength display?

Anyone know of an ATSC tuner that has a good signal strength display? I just put up an antenna rotator and want to use it to seek out stations that the auto tuning misses. Right now I have one TV that will allow me to input an RF channel number and then display signal strength and quality for...

Losing VHF signal in the evening

With the antenna rotated to about 290 degrees I watched Channel 8 all evening last night - not a glitch. I still plan to install the rotator when it arrives - I'd like to experiment a bit with receiving more distant stations. There is an Ion station in Bakersfield that I've seen occasionally...

Losing VHF signal in the evening

Here's the TVFOOL report. I rotated the antenna 180 degrees and rescanned - getting pretty much the same channels as before - won't know until after dark whether it helped. I do have a rotator on order but it won't be here until next week. BTW I see I was wrong about Ch 9 being a Mexican...

Losing VHF signal in the evening

I recently put up a new antenna and am experiencing a strange problem. In San Diego there are 2 stations on VHF, channels 8 and 10 (plus at least one from Mexico on Channel 9). I have a Winegard 8200 pointed at 105 degrees to pick up UHF stations and the VHF stations are at about 290 degrees so...

    Sonicview 8000HD HELP!!!!!!!!!

Still using mine for OTA - I did have to replace the power supply caps - bought them from Digikey - they have pretty good prices and don't soak you on the shipping. It has a much better EPG display than either of my TV's. I have a MicroHD now for FTA so no longer use that function on the SV.

    Request Opinions on SV-HD8000

I've had a Sonicview 8000HD for a couple of years and still use it, but mostly for OTA reception. I use it mainly because I can record with it, using an external USB disk. It also does a better job of displaying the EPG than my TV does. For FTA I now use a microHD like several people have...

    Avenger PLL321S-2 PLL = Awesome!

Still no joy - tried setting to 10600 and turning 22khz on - no difference - still don't see the 83W channels show up. Tried other combinations also - including the one that should work with this LNBF - Universal 9750/10600 which causes the MicroHD to set the 22khz to "Auto" and gray it out...

    Avenger PLL321S-2 PLL = Awesome!

I bought one of these - not impressed. First thing that happened was I lost RTV etc. on 83W - just changed back to the old DMX521 and they came back - no change in dish position. I did try moving the Avenger in and out in the clamp - no difference. I also lost some of the other channels I like -...
