What I'm noticing on many stations (both HD and SD) is that the picture suddenly freezes and turns black for a few seconds before coming back on. There is no audio during that time, either.

Wouldn't one with a current standard cable box then be denied use of the "out to VCR" feature and the ability to watch another program during dubbing like we have on the 8300 because it has multiple tuners and a hard drive? And does that also mean in order not to mess up dubbing one would have...

And what about the "out to VCR" function on DVR hardrive units? Standard HD boxs don't have this.
