True, but having no way to get issues resolved for almost a week (so far) certainly won't help Dish Network churn numbers, not to mention installs and upgrades that can't be completed. Also lost PPV revenue. And a public relations / marketing black eye, esp. if it turns out there was a private...

I dunno ... maybe there should be a little fear. A six day outage for any customer service / billing seems unprecedented.

What's the difference? In my case I need to get a "hit" sent to a receiver that had been unplugged for a while. I guess that won't be happening for a while. :rolleyes:

I am looking to streamline by Dish package a bit. On MyDish I was able to get rid of the Dish Movie Pack and save $10 a month (my wife and I barely watch it). I was also going to drop Multi-Sport, or at least try to drop it and see if I am offered a deal to keep it. However since this weekend...

Perhaps the contract will be backdated dated to 10/1 whenever it is signed, but I highly doubt Dish would pay Disney for channels that they were not allowed to broadcast.

Like has been said here, Dish is making money on this dispute because they surely pay more than $5 a month for the ESPN / Disney / FX channels (and the O&O ABC that I lost as well). And they make even from those that don't ask for a refund for channels they are paying for but no longer get.

I gave them a day. I'm asking for a discount now. Why should I be paying for channels I am no longer getting? And if their discount is $5 I will certainly keep that in mind the next time I compare providers.

I am in the Philadelphia market and ABC6 was pulled as well. Guessing all the ABC O&O stations are pulled (NYC, LA, etc.)

I told them (truthfully) that remote #1 was completely dead. They still were adamant that we had to go through all troubleshooting steps, including receiver reset, etc. They also kept bringing up Receiver #1 vs. Receiver #2, which was not applicable to my setup.

Update: I contacted Dish Support chat via Facebook, they quickly responded and sent me two new remotes free of charge since I have Dish Protect Silver. Thanks for those here who pointed me in the right direction. My only complaint now is why their Customer Support via their main phone number is...
