    On older receivers - 721 and such - when the guide was displayed, you could left arrow all the way to the channel description rectangle - press the select button - and the small video display would change to that channel. This no longer works on my 722 - 522 - 211K. Is this functionality...

    501 remote programming

    I'm having trouble getting the platinum remote that came with my 501 to control a Philips DVD player. When I select the VCR mode and enter one of the three codes listed for Philips DVD players (640,641,642) and hit the # key; the VCR mode light just goes out. It does not blink three times...
