a lot of times this has to do with the sequence in which the handshake is made. You could try manually powering your TV on first, then turn the Joey on and see if the issue persists. However, i would agree, best way to fix this is to get a newer TV.

Did you enable IR Reception on the Joey through the Remote Control menu? I haven't used one of these hubs but I did a little reading online...I'm assuming that you would only see the Hopper online since the Joeys are using the Hopper's IP connection, can you take the IP address from the Joey...
If you hit pause, how long does it remain paused before it resumes live TV? It could be your hard drive if it's failing, but are you having other issues with recording, trick play, the guide? You can always try rebooting the box as well.
I mean, the hardware isn't sufficient to run YouTube without experiencing a poor user experience, so logically I would assume they are not going to retroactively change the hardware in an existing product to add YouTube, but instead maybe the new models going forward will the juice to run it...
Dish isn't working on adding You Tube to any existing Joeys. Future Joeys, maybe? However, I would never expect to see You Tube on Joey 1,2,3, or 4k Joeys .
