I saw on Charlie Chat that Shreveport, Louisiana, is FINALLY getting HD locals. Anyone know when it will go live and which channels will be included? THANKS!

I haven't watched Charlie Chat in about two years and tuned in tonight to see that my local market, Shreveport, LA, is finally getting HD. I'm in shock as I have "moved" from Tennessee to Georgia to Texas in my years with DISH. And they said you can't ever go home again, lol! :)

Apparently many people have this issue. Do we know WHY Dish does this to the signal in dual mode to the 2nd tv?

Could someone please explain to me why the feed from the 2nd tuner in both our 722K and 622 receivers shows up small with black bars on all sides (is that what they call letterbox?) on the two tvs they feed? I understand that the signal is in SD, even though both are flat screen HD LCDs, and...

I recently moved and not all of the local channels mapped down on my 622. The ABC and FOX channels did but the NBC and CBS channels did not. On the 722K, they all mapped down. I tried 1)resetting the receiver using the front button 2) unplugging it and plugging it back in after 10 minutes 3)...

That same thing happened to my 622. Give it up and have them send another one. They did that for me and that one didnt' work either so I raised heck and they gave me a new 722K and it's working great. (crossed fingers)

Update: They all mapped down on the new 722k in the living room. The 622 in the bedroom, however, still just shows the 2 stations.

The OTA HD isn't soft, it's very crisp. But it does drop off and on, i guess as the wind blows. That is the main reason for the move, to have consistent HD signals on the network channels. The SD local thru Dish is what I was saying is soft.

I can see the HD in the 8000s and the SD in the 6000s but those two did not map down.

Thanks for your reply. I pushed the reset button on the receiver, ran a check switch...still not showing up. It did download all the new channel stuff but no cbs or nbc mapped down. odd.

Ok, i moved to Dallas online with no problems. Here are the locals in HD DALLAS ABC-WFAA IN HD 8 6383 DALLAS CBS-KTVT IN HD 11 6384 DALLAS FOX-KDFW IN HD 4 6386 DALLAS NBC-KXAS IN HD 5 6385 The CBS and NBC stations are not showing 'mapped down' in either HD or SD. Any thoughts...

I get 45% on 1 and 42% on 3. No local HD on those yet, you said? GRRR!
