Yep, that La Cie drive turned out to be bad. I hooked it up to my iMac and it recognized it, but when I tried to format it it quit part way through. Then I started hearing very disturbing noises emanating from the drive and that was it. Hooked up another drive and it works fine.

Okay, I checked channel 139 (which is artifacting very badly right now) and got a signal strength of 23-25. It said locked but no name acquired, whatever that means.
