Goodbye Charlie... (OFFICIAL I am Leaving DISH Thread)

I am a longstanding Dish customer (since they bought Voom). With the new Dual receiver & HD DVR fee's, I have dropped 2 of my 4 receivers from my account (dropped my 2nd ViP 622 and a 222K I had as well, as these went up to $17 + $14 / month each). I also dropped HBO, since I rarely watch it...

    Sling Receiver 300

I just want to get the "Sling Receiver 300" to get rid of the extra ViP 622's I have for extra HDTV's, I am not happy with this new per box montly charge. If the Sling Receiver doesn't come out, I am likely going to cancel my dish account, and return all of the equipment. enough is enough. I...

120cm dish with C-Band performance - Now with HD!

not quite... That andrew spec sheet has 1 clue on it: "available with C-Band OR KU-band" the keyword is OR, not AND.... plus, that assembly is really designed for 2 way satellite applications in EITHER C-Band or KU-Band.. not both. It's designed to have a transmitter on 1 port, and and...

    offer from dish...this is better!!!!

Don't worry about the 2 year commitment If you sign up with Dish, and they deploy MPEG4, and you are a paying subscriber, don't you think they will have a reasonable offer for new MPEG4 equipment (such as the new 411 receiver), or upgrade your equipment for free? They want to keep you as a...

Are You Vooming Again On Dish Yet?

Sounds like he has 3 dishes: 61.5, 148, and a Dish 500 for 110/119 He MUST be on the west coast, the locals for the West coast are mostly on the 148 dish. 61.5 is for the VOOM HD channels... I thought DN still had a bug that would not allow both a 61.5 and a 148 dish, I guess they must...

    It's yours

In Post #114 on this thread, I said the DN Provider ID is 00 01, which I am getting from my FTA Receiver, that is in the EMU section (emulator), give that a try... Just as an FYI, the only channel you will get on 61.5 should be the HD Demo channel, everything else is encrypted via Nagravision...

    It's yours

I am an FTA guy, that's how I got you all those numbers DN is using :-) It's hard to try and guess what Motorola was thinking, and what they expect in that Frequency spot. I would keep experiementing, or ask on a Motorola forum.. That entire diagnotic screen was most likely for testing...

    It's yours

Symbol rate is most likely 20Msps (mega symbols per second), not 22.5 (at least on my FTA receiver, all DN TP's are 20Msps) Try both polaritys (left / right), also known as even/odd. That should do it, if it's going to work... Mitch

    It's yours

As an FYI, DN uses 20Mbps Symbol Rate (Nagravision 1, anyway..), DVB broadcasting, the 22khz tone is used on a switch to select the proper LNB..... LNB Frequency: 11250, not sure of the DVB mode... DN Provider ID: 00 01 Maybe this will help you... DN is encrypted, so you might just get the...

    Not Happy with Dish HD

MPEG4 arriving Did any one catch a few posts back (post #13 in this thread), Dish told him his 921 would NOT work after August for VOOM? I hope Dish plans to have those 411's out soon, and I wonder about the 942's and all of the 811's being bought on fleabay... Mitch P.S. This is why I...

How do I recieve an OTA signal from a nearby market?

use a rotor, there is not really any good way to connect 2 OTA antenna's together, you are ASKING for trouble (multipath, ghosting, etc) Mitch

RUMOR: VoOm STB w/Dish in Canada

I find that nearly impossible, since EchoStar uses DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting), while VOOM was using a Digicipher format... Their is no way that Digiccipher can decode DVB broadcasts. It's totally untrue. Mitch

    Can Someone Summarize Dish's Plans?

RBBrittain: Yes, I have been saying this for a while... Since Dish Network now has 9 unused transponders on 61.5, and, they are using 4 of them for VOOM (total of 13 transponders), it makes sense for one of their first MPEG4 experiments to probably try out the new 411 MPEG4 receivers, and try...

Instructions for Adding the 61.5 - revised 05/04

Try moving the LNB back to port 3A, that should get you the odd transponders.. Don't worry about what checkswitch is saying, now that you have the sat locked in, it should work just fine. You got the HDTV DEMO channel because its on an EVEN transponder (port 3B) Mitch
