    Which portable dish?

So you carry two LNBs with you and swap them out when you change arcs? Mark

    Which portable dish?

How much of a lag does re-positioning add when changing channels?

    dishformyrv.com

What's the story with dishformyrv.com? Are they just another reseller? Mark

    Which portable dish?

I'm lazy and think I'll go with one of the "automatic" ones. Doesn't it take a different LNB for eastern vs western?

    Wally as DVR

So if you buy the $99 hard drive they sell for the Wally, does it include the $40 activation?

    Wally as DVR

Thinking about getting Wally for use in RV. Would like DVR capability, mostly for pausing/rewinding live TV. I have a 1TB USB disk that I used with a 722 before getting an H3 at home. Can I just plug it in to the Wally, format, and go? Or do I have to follow the instructions on the dish site...

    Which portable dish?

I'm thinking about getting a portable/mobile dish with Wally receiver to use with our travel trailer. Looks like they all are designed to use western arc satellites, with a single exception - the Winegard Pathway X2. But it's (understandably) bigger and heavier. So, do those of you who RV...

    Eastern Arc Satellites

All my locals (Pittsburgh PA DMA) are available HD on both eastern and western arcs. Mark

    Eastern Arc Satellites

That's unfortunate. We used to loose 129 due to rain fade and could switch over to SD. Now it seems like rain fade results in "total signal loss". They switched me to eastern since it would be "more reliable". Can the H3 handle all 3 satellites on the western arc if I ask them to switch me back?

    Eastern Arc Satellites

Customer for years with a pair of 722s off western arc. Dish (can't remember the model) had LNB with 3 eyes, one for each satellite. Recently upgraded to H3 and Joeys. Installer used same dish, rotated to eastern arc. Replaced LNB with 2-eyed one. I remember the the eastern arc originally...

I have WA, neighbor got EA

Western PA, Pittsburgh DMA for locals. Never had to deal with snow/ice problems so I'll probably stick with WA and occasional rain fade (devil you know vs devil you don't know) although I may request 1000.4WA if they don't develop any problems between now an August (end of my commitment)...

    722k external hard drive "activation"

I know how to search, and did so before calling E* - both here and using Google. I wonder how many other E* customers, who may not be involved (however infrequently) with satelliteguys.us, will experience similar "frustration" before the web site is updated and CSRs trained. BTW - dear...

    722k external hard drive "activation"

Stumbled on a good deal on a 1TB usb hard drive so I thought I'd add one to my 722k. Plugged it it, formatted, moved stuff to it, played stuff from it, life is good. Then I remembered that you needed to get an external HD "activated" and that there was a $35 fee for doing so. hmm. Went...

I have WA, neighbor got EA

I've had WA HD setup for almost 2 years - 2000.2 dish receiving from 110, 119 and 129. Clear view to all 3, with what seems to be typical signal levels compared to what others post here. 129 suffers occasionally from rain fade, snow hasn't been a problem, don't think I've ever lost 110 or...

Dish's LNB is defective and I have to pay?

There's an old axiom in business - "the customer pays for everything". It has to be that way or else the business will fail. The "trick" is to make the customer feel like he's not paying for it :-) Kinda like "the governmen ought to pay for that" - where do you think the govt gets the...
