Possibly going from Roof to Pole Mount ?

Perhaps in your market. But, I've spoken to customers that have been charged if they didn't have it. Believe what you like, obviously nothing I tell you will change your mind.

Possibly going from Roof to Pole Mount ?

Having the protection plan has no bearing on "custom labor". And also having does not make you a sucker. Since you own all your equipment (dish, cable, multiswitch or if it's newer SWiM equipment) D* will likely charge you to replace it. Again, it's yours not theirs. Now, the receivers are...

    Are dish hole placements identical?

The old 18" or "round" dish used a 1 1/2" diameter mast. The newer ones as of about a little over a year ago use the same 2" mast the current HD (Ka/Ku "Slimline") dish uses. Very likely your mount is the old one, so yes, you'd need a new mast installed.

New DTV designed signal level meter?

Minnesota tech here. In a few weekly meetings, they've spoken about this new meter. Apparently designed specifically by DTV. Guess the Clairemont, MN office has them. Myself and the other service techs in our office received the Super Buddies approx 6 months or so ago. It's definitely better...

    New Directv DVR

They seemed to have skimmed this topic in our last tech meeting. So I didn't really get any details. Am I correct in the fact that the MVR is a SWiM only feature? Or will this work with the legacy systems as well?

    Oct 13-14 SWiM

Our local shop took all 4x4 (thankfully, since they're crap and likely to go out in 6 months or so anyways) and 4x8's off our trucks. 2 weeks later the warehouse said DTV didn't realize there were so many [4x8's] out in the field and had WAY to many on hand again, so now they're putting 2 each...
