By the way, does anyone know that for those of us with a 3-story building that cost the extra $100 to have the dish originally installed, is DTV going to try and change that amount again when they come out to upgrade their dish?

BTW...how long have you had your HD receiver? I was thinking some part of the deal with getting the HD box (or maybe it was the Voom upgrade rebate I'm thinking of) required keeping the HD Pack for a period of time...going from memory so I could be completely wrong...

My guess is that is to cover anything happening to the box (locks up and system resets, etc.), so that they have no commitment to do something to make it start working again...

Wonder if there's a outgoing message in that from the Voom folks ;)

Yes, I am connected through DVI and it works for me. At least one my first box...I got a second box yesterday that is connected through DVI to another TV; I'll try and test that today and let you know.

Update - they have the offer! So, was all scheduled to have our service disconnected Saturday to then resign up with the new promotion, when we finally got a call from Voom. They offered us the deal to get a second box installed for $50 and the rental fees for each box $5 with a 6 month...

Yes, it is for former customers as well. CSR even explained that for the uninstall, they will only take the receiver and remote back, leave dish and antenna. As soon as they take it, we schedule the reinstall for two boxes . What a brain dead process... :mad: Fortunately, where I live, basic...

Glad I kept my cancel order in...receiver goes back Saturday, then I order the service again. I agree...why can they just not make it simple...?

The installation fee for a second receiver is still ridiculous...esp. with a "leased" system as mine. So, here's what I am doing (and believe it or not, this is per the suggestion of the CSR): As of this Saturday, we have cancelled our Voom service. According to the CSR, they will come on...
