Mentioning Weigel, here on the North Oregon Coast, sometime in Sept "West" is starting up programming, 3.9. Now it is a barker channel.

Portland has KGW & KGWZ (NBC) that are Tegna, KOIN, KRCW (CBS/CW) that are owned by Nexstar. That would give them NBC, CBS, & CW.

We have a Weigel Class A stations here, but no METV-Toons, so I get that off Frndly TV.

After picking up Dish in 1999, mainly because they had distant locals & super stations, I finally cancelled the service. Not unhappy with Dish, even though the pricing keeps going up, but what doesn't? I am keeping the Vip211k and Dish up. Who knows? I may re-subscribe, but at this point I doubt...

I got rid of my big dish and now Dish as everything streams and many more services. With streaming almost anything can be found. Being a fan of old TV shows, I find many on You Tube that I never found on Dish or my big dish.

I pay the $2.99 a month extra for Prime ad free and Premium on You Tube. Too many ads today.

My concern is that recently the Frndly TV channels were added to the Fire TV live guide. I hope they stay, but with Roku and Fire TV, rivals, who knows?

I am surprised we have that many that have satellite or cable in this day. I spend 99% of my viewing on apps like You Tube, Frndly TV, or Prime.

I'm not interested in 3.0. First living on the rural Oregon Coast, it will be years until we see anything via 3.0.Also DRM has to go before I invest in it.

I have the old Teblo and the new. Both work fine and now there is no charge for the OTA guides. Also Tablo has another 70 streaming channels included that you can record to an HDD. I also have the Amazon Recast, but it is not made any longer. I like the idea on a free OTA guide.

I have heard "Sling" will merge with Direct TV's streaming service. Sling & Dish are less expensive than what Direct offers, so expect an increase. Where "Free Sling" will go is anyone's guess.

Hopefully this would keep both services afloat for a few more years.
