Agreed on every point you made mindgrind. But for me FiOS is still a great value. Awesome PQ, Great movie pack and VOD, Decent DVR with the ability to interface with Tivo, fast internet, reliable phone and savings of about $12/mo are keeping me a customer.

You can still take the ugly dishes off the roof and not expose the roof to leaks by just leaving the mounting plate attached to the roof. After I switched to fios, I looked thru the local pennysaver and found a "cable guy" who for $75 took down both my dishes and my squareshooter antenna...

From my understanding, If you use Tivo with Fios you will lose the abilty to watch On Demand and PPV.

The Movie pack at $12.99/month includes Showtime HD , TMC HD and STARZ HD. Plus gives you access to all the VOD content from each of them. Thats a darn good deal!

The New Interactive Media Guide should be rolling out to most areas by the end of this month. Itlooks like the most amazing interface created in a very long time. Can't wait!

Let me say, I have been a huge Dish Fan and subscriber for 7 years. I live on Long Island and recently switched to Verizon FIOS and wanted to share my opinion. First off, DISH is and was terrific. Their HD DVR's have always been fast, the PQ superb, and I loved their HD channel selection. So...

Tom- How difficult was it to switch back? I mean the FIOS installer must have moved the coax from the DISH to the FIOS box right? DID DIsh offer to re connect you for free? My wife really wants on Demand so I'm thinking I might try the FIOS.

I Live on Long Island and the FIOS guy came knocking on my door yesterday. I scheduled an install date of 7/13. But now I'm second guessing myself. I am really happy with my Dish 942 and 611. I have Verizon for my landline and DSL. If I get the FIOS, I get all three services $10/mo cheaper...

Does anyone know if they are really working on the audio issues since the last software update? I cant understand why they wont put the prior version back! :confused:

Bottom line, for the here and now you'll have alot more HD channels with Dish and you wont have to deal with that S L O W as molasses HD Tivo.

When I had D* they put some awesome movies on their HD Pay Per View channel. Why cant E* do the same? All I've been seeing on the guide is a Benji the dog movie in HD! WTF??

Those two losers saved Voom from Doom and are right now delivering the best HD experience available on the planet. I suggest you give em some credit :rolleyes:

It amazes me that thousands of people felt it wasnt worth the 5 minutes time and effort to send in for a $100 rebate. Boy I feel like a poor schlep since I mailed in a $3 Cherrios rebate yesterday. :(

I would ask for a name and fax number. If they refuse, tell them they can keep your service off permanently and they'll transfer you to retention.
