    722 rebooting

My 722 also rebooted itself twice last night. I am on L671. Picture froze and then receiver turned itself off. It came back on without my doing anything after about 5 minutes. I did the power cord reset the first time it happened about a week ago. Seems like it's becoming a common problem. My...

alt hookup for 2nd dvr tuner w/o coax

X-10 wireless video sender and use the rca connections. Costs about $50.00 and works pretty well.

Can you watch a dual tuner HD DVR THRU a 2nd HD tuner?

Unless you don't mind that both TVs' are displaying the same channel/recording. Hook one up with HDMI and the other with component.

TV2 - Is Composite better than RF?

Did mine with a 50 ft pre-made RG-59 composite cable from monoprice. Quality was much improved over coax connection(but I'm old and my eyes aren't what they used to be). If running new wire is a problem the X-10 video sender using the composite connections works well also. I am using both...

    Two Free Pay-per-view passes

Got mine too. I wish Charlie would have made them worth $6.99 as my wife is the only one that ever does PPV at my house and she always picks one of the on-demand HD movies.

    Comcast to Dish Network?

I thought everyone confused you. You will need two lines from the dish into the house. You will need two duo receivers. Each receiver will run one HD tv and one SD tv with independent viewing on each tv. HD tv will be connected to receiver with either HDMI or component. SD tv will be connected...

    722 vip modulation set-up Q

Sounds like you also do not have the receiver set to dual mode. That can only be done with the pushbutton on the front of the receiver.

    Comcast to Dish Network?

You will not be able to place the receivers in your basement utility room. In order to get an HD picture the tv needs to be connected to the receiver via HDMI or component. Also you will need a separate coax from the dish to each receiver. You will be able to connect the TV2 output from each...

OTA HD locals with 2nd TV

If you're using coax for tv2 you can use two splitters in reverse to combine the tv2 out and ota. Switching between inputs on the tv won't be necessary, just change the channel on the tv. Here is a drawing I did a while back. Hope it helps.

    TV2 room change

I use the X-10 wireless video sender for the TV in my daughters room. Took a while to find a setting that worked without killing the wireless conneection on my laptop. Works OK except when the microwave is running. There is also the RF Link AVS-5811. It is more expensive but operates on the 5.8...

Considering Dish - 2 Questions (VIP 722 Dual Output & Insurance Related)

The answer to your first question is no. You are not actually "splitting" the signal. There is a second modulated output on the Vip722 to connect to the second SD tv. The HD will be either 1080i or 720p depending how you set the receiver. The second tv is SD only but you can watch HD channels...
