    HDMI Cables

How true. With analogue, the difference between high-end and economy cabling is readily discernable (although some premium cables are extreme overkill -- did someone say Monster?). However with digital, the picture information is not decoded by the sat receiver -- it's decoded by the TV...

Offset dishes and the elevation angle question.

I concur. I was incorrect in my last post when I stated that the further West the satellite is, the closer it is to the horizon. That statement is factual only in the eastern part of the country. In the west, the opposite holds true (thanks Raoul5788 and Iceberg).

    Wiring question for 3rd receiver

If you have the resources, I would strongly prefer that you run three RG-6 (w/ solid copper core) to each outlet. The third one being for OTA. I don't care what any one says, you should not give up your over the air ATSC (better picture, lesser processed, reduced latency, content redundancy...

Offset dishes and the elevation angle question.

You are so correct. I forgot how expansive our continent is, and how laterally displaced its southern neighbor is. In short, I was thinking that South America is due south of North America, when in essence it's really southeast; most of its west coast is further east than our own east coast...

    H20-600 help

Sounds like a classic case of capacitance (i.e., oxidation - RUST) introduced in the signal path. You say you have a triple sat (though I would expect you to have a 5-sat with your H20, since HD locals are generally on the 99w or 103w), so I assume your dish has 4 "F"-connector ports. How many...

Offset dishes and the elevation angle question.

In my market, the 5-LNB Ka/Ku ODUs are equipped with 99/101/103/110/119 LNBs (that's 99 degWest, NOT 93). As a rule, since all the satellites are in geostationary orbit (over the equator , at 22,236 miles over mean sea level) , and are situated over the Pacific Ocean at least 800 miles...

What can you do when 3 shows on at the same time???

Assuming at least one of the shows is on a local channel (possibly HD), record 2 shows with the DVR and use the TV's internal tuner to watch the third. There is a good chance that you might live within 50 miles from an HDTV terrestrial transmitter -- best kept secret: OTA HDTV is as good as...
