    Or, freely speak your mind on Facebook & Twitter, and when your employer fires you, contact the NLRB. Until a court says otherwise, the NLRA protects speech. I love how you assume that everyone who posts negative remarks about their employers are all committing libel. :)

    Thing is, I am not the only one who has said the sports channels should be separate. But, I do agree with your sentiment where channels in general are concerned. There are a lot of channels that I don't watch, but in many cases, the sports channels carry a higher per subscriber fee than others...

    You are correct. To an extent, they should. But that wasn't the point of the article Scott posted. In some situations, an employer does have to respect an employees free speech rights.

    The 1st amendment protects speech, period. Your employer may fire you for just about any reason, but that does not mean they can't be held to account for it. Whistleblowing is speech. Exercising union rights is speech. Exercising employee rights is speech.
