What are you doing being so close to the installer so he can't get his job done? Or making him so nervous that he just ... "leaves" ??? Nothing #$%^ 's me off more than to have someone hover and gawk and kibitz when I am working... You probably didn't think about that, eh?

So, correct me if I am wrong.....but didn't Charlie say that they own 20% of Voom??? So if that is the case, are they not suing themselves???? Inquiring minds want to know.....

Thanks folks for the info. I too will be $$$ driven, and so far, D* cannot match what E* is offering ----price wise--- ..... I am upset about losing the Voom channels, and replacing most of that content with commercial channels.... But E* is $$$ driven also...and business.... is ...

If E* was not offering the HD only pack, and at that great price, w/locals....I would switch to D* in a heartbeat. I mean, as of last count there are 30+ more channels offered by D*. Paying $75+ per month for TV is getting pretty ridiculous...(just TV) Not sure how you folks feel....but...

I can't believe the "big deal" for all of the hoopla to get this software update to us. Sheesh.... If all we had to wait for this update is a favorites "button option"....what should be expect next? Maybe funny colored icons on the menus? or how about circus sound effects for button...

I have gone to CES the last 10 years, and IMHO, the Dish "booth" is pretty disjointed and not really organized. There are a smattering of new prototype receivers and equipment here and there, new programming offered, etc....but I don't remember seeing anything really "earthshaking" at CES...

I would fault the flat cable... All it would take is a "weird bend" or something not making a decent contact. Also you are passing that FSS signal through that thing too... Run a "hot drop" directly to the TV from the dish, bypassing that flat cable and see what happens.

Older "tract houses" will only have RG-59 and you are stuck using it, especially the 2 story houses with a concrete slab foundation...and the TV in the middle of the house layout....I have been installing for many years, and have not ONE problem with using "decent quality"... RG-59 - not weather...

It would be nice to have a 33 switch for installation of a 500+ or 1000+ Dish to eliminate that second line to the receiver from the dish... Anybody know anything about a release date???

Same thing this morning for KFMB. Pink Screen. I was trying to show off this channel to a new connect yesterday, and the news was in SD. Problems, methinks, for that local San Diego Channel.

MAKE SURE YOU USE THE 2 AMP DIPLEXERS, and not the 1 ampers on port 1 on the DP44 switch..... I believe the Holland "Blue" ones are "2 amp" and the "Red" ones are one amp.

AND if you want more than 2 HD TV's you will need to spring for another HD DVR receiver ($$$) or dual HD receiver that will only operate 1 HD TV (TV1)...or a single HD receiver per "extra" HDTV So your count of HD TV's that you want to watch high definition will dramatically change the $$$...

An "old old" DirecTV dish WILL work....if it is one of the "Hughes Network" "D" Style dishes and some older origional "Dish" dishes had that setup..... probably 4-6 years old....it is not square and can point to the 61.5 location.... There is....or was.... a "square" converter to a "D"...

Check out Big 10 Networks... I watched the Indiana game on a replay in HD!!! Pretty cool..... I wonder if all of the Saturday games will be in HD....
