improve the signal reception of the dual-tuner OTA adapter

I did have a preamp with my antenna. I believe this is just case by case.

improve the signal reception of the dual-tuner OTA adapter

I know many of us here shares the same struggle. Initially I have tried placing the adapter into an open-air location, relocating the OTA antenna, replacing the coax cables, plus reducing the number of coax connectors used. But the overall improvement so far was only marginal. The final thing...

    Hopper Energy Usage

That's true for one of my colleagues who pays $9000/mo on housing. She literally laughed at me for shelling out $50/mo to Dish while she was paying YoutubeTV for only $11/mo by sharing with 2 other people. Sent from my Pixel XL using the SatelliteGuys app!

    Hopper Energy Usage

Following this thread this far, I feel a bit hesitant to admit that I too care about the energy cost of the satellite receivers, and I've been turning them off and on on a daily basis. I live in Northern California where the base electricity rate is $0.20/kwh and one could easily go to the tier...

Need to extend USB for Hopper3 OTA dongle

I bet using using a pair of coax-over-cat5e adapters would have a better chance of making it work. The OTA dongle would colocate with the Hopper3 this way.

    Local Channels optional

My OTA local guide data is still there. Forgot to mention my receiver is a Wally running U419.

Yes, all OTA locals still have guide data.

    Local Channels optional

I managed to drop all my locals just now. I'm on 2-yr price guarantee with the AT120+ package. Monthly bill reduced exactly by $10.

    TP_LinkSmart Plug

For me I don't record anything 1am - 4pm Monday to Friday so that's when I turn off the DVR-enabled receiver and all its clients. I had been doing this while I was with Directv for the past 2 years or so before I switched to Dish recently. Will see how this plays out with Dish.

    TP_LinkSmart Plug

I have a lot of these smart plugs at my home for different purposes. I use two of them to control the power to my two Wally's, for power-saving purpose. A Wally with EHD and OTA tuner connected will consume roughly 30 watts. So I set up an automatic schedule in the smart plug to turn off the...

Periodic Pixelation (every minute and 55 seconds)

The OTA terrestrial channel signal can be affected by the mirage effect. This is most noticeable around the time of sunrise or sunset depending on the locations of the OTA TV stations and the OTA receivers. If you get your local channels through Dish satellites, most likely this is a problem on...

    New DISH EHD

FYI recently I purchased a 2-TB WD Passport Portable Hard Drive USB3.0 WDBYFT0020BBK(no separate power supply) for $68.99, and was able to attach it to a Wally without a problem.

    AT&T to Dish

I rarely watch anything in SD but here is a screenshot from a Dish SD channel:

    AT&T to Dish

I made the exact switch less than a week ago. I kept DTV service for another 2 days after the Dish installation so I was able to make a side-by-side comparison between DTV HR44 and Dish Wally. DTV probably looks only slightly better in terms of picture quality, but for me that's a very tiny...
