    What's better? The 1080i or 1080p or 720i or 720p.

    Mitsubishi's LCOS 82" Projection HDTV is 1080p. If you have $20,000 to blow. The new HD DVD players are stated to be 1080p. So maybe there will be a reason to want 1080p.

    I think he was saying most of the SD is in pcm analog, not dolby digital pcm/ac-3. The audio will be in stero unless it is matrixed. I know when I had directv only the movie channels like HBO had DD.

    I have had a few digital cable boxes from motorolla and general instruments. They have a sticker on the bottom with the model number.

    Time for the troll to pipe in :) You know what.... all satellite providers have close to equal picture quality. All have their problems with set top boxes. All have Customer service problems. I had a bad experience with voom and took it out on everyone. Was it that bad of an experience...

    Just when you thought it was safe to go in the water

    This is because they were using a moving car scene. I think that was over exaggerated because I've seen people get sick in those space simulators. I find it hard to believe people couldn't tell it from reality either. Like the forum said lots of monitors go beyond the HD standard resolution.
