    Analog Channels have Lines

So, did they fix the rolling lines? If so, what did they do? The techs in my area are clueless

Any experiance with TimeWarner? Possible Defector here :(

Well, I switched from TW to Dish Network recently. Here is what I noticed: Dish - Limted HD offerings, no local HD (so, I didn't go for it) - 522 dual tuner DVR works well so far - PQ for SD is "acceptable", compression artifacts very noticable - Remote is the best I have used TW...

    California

Time Warner Cable, Los Angeles I am hoping that Time Warner will add the WB and UPN to their HD locals lineup soon. I am also awaiting the release of their new Scientific Atlanta 8300 HD DVR. I also hear that SciFi is working on an HD simulcast. Anyone have any information on this?

    pixalation

I have a Mits 55515. If you are viewing on a large screen TV, then it's probably just par for the course.

    522 and signal strength

It would have been nice if Dish has made the power cord removable from the back of the 522. It would make hard reboots easier. Hopefully the won't be required very often. I suppose I should have given more details on the signals. They are as follows: 119 has a signal of 102 on TP 11...

    pixalation

I agree, it needs to be fixed. I moved from Time Warner Digital Cable because I thought there was too much grain going on in the picture, but at least it didn't look all over compressed like this. I am not sure which is the lesser of two evils. At least with TWC, if I was watching locals that...

    pixalation

I have noticed a form of pixelation on my 522 as well. Especially noticeable on the locals, the pixelation looks like the image is made up of thin, vertical "digital strips". They are faint but noticable. Another way to desribe it would be that it looks like someone has placed a filter in...

    Info onTime Warner Cable?

Info onTime Warner Cable LA? What is the best source for information on Time Warner Cable, Los Angeles? I am interested in tracking updates on their deployment of the SA8300 and new HDTV channels. I understand that they are coming into negotiations for even more HD programming, but their site...

My unit was off all night and as of this morning, still at 2.32. I'm in California, so maybe it is a local thing.

    522 and signal strength

I wanted to ask if signal strenghts of 90 and 102 are considered good. Also, if I ever need to, how do I perform a hard reboot? Hopefully it can be done without pulling the power cord out as my power strip is no in an easy to reach spot. Regards, Rick

    DirecTV Install Question

Location: California, 91350 I do want the ability to watch one show and record another on the main TV. Is the stacker/destacker basically what the DPP44 is? Is this something you can insist on when you place your order to D*? That's what I did with Dish and they supplied the DPP44 with no...

    DirecTV Install Question

Charper1, Great information! Actually, the verbage looks similar in some areas of the documentation and mentions the FCC guildelines. My HOA additionally goes on to limit us to 1 dish of a size to less than 1 meter in diameter and must be mounted where it can not be readily apparent as seen...

    DirecTV Install Question

TYORK, really? I thought it was nice that Dish was able to do that and use the single lines using the DPP44. I will look into having the cable "fished' through the wall. I just can't bring myself to start runnnig cables through walls and along baseboards in the new house. :no Can you...

    DirecTV Install Question

Interesting. I didn't know that. When I had my Dish install done, Dish insisted on getting a letter from the HOA stating it was OK to install the Dish. The letter tells you where the dish can be installed, etc. Is this just a run-around? Oh well, maybe I am just taking the path of least...
