Wouldn't this leave the hard drive unprotected from dust, "the elements", etc.? Would this be a problem sitting on top of a cabinet in the bedroom? I like the idea of using an internal hard drive though (cheaper if replacement is needed).

I am trying to find a good hard drive for the VIP211K to use the DVR feature. I have seen the western digital dvr expander hard drive, but I couldn't tell that it offered any more value or features than regular ones that don't say "dvr expander." Would someone please point me in the right...
