Anyone Having Split Second Dropouts on Bell HD Channels?

Tried the unplug the cable and run the check switch trick. Unfortunately did not work. Had first dropout about 5 minutes after I got the programming back.

What Causes Brief Signal Dropout & Not Locked?

I get 98-100 on the NIMIQ 82W satellite, and 94-87 on the 91W. 82W has more dropouts than the 91W, but they both do it at times. Cable and connectors have been replaced.

What Causes Brief Signal Dropout & Not Locked?

Edmonton Alberta on Bell service. They use 91W and 82W NIMIQ. Most problems have been with the 82W, but some also on 91W. The main receiver is a Bell 9241, which really is a Dish 612 VIP from Echostar. I have another Bell receiver 6131, single tuner HD, which is dropping out at the same time...

What Causes Brief Signal Dropout & Not Locked?

My main receiver has 25 feet of Monster Quad copper shield, copper core RG6 cable. It replaced some 3 GHz RG6 used by Bell, and there was no improvement. All connectors replaced too.

What Causes Brief Signal Dropout & Not Locked?

"The top culprits are: 1. Misaligned Dish 2. Faulty Switch 3. Cable problem (loose connections faulty cable cable too long and needs a power inserter etc...) 4. Faulty set top box. I had the same problem after a recent storm and had the dish realigned and now I have no problem." The hardware...

Anyone Having Split Second Dropouts on Bell HD Channels?

"All I could suggest is removing the INput cables, then run a Check Switch. After it fails, replace the INputs and run it again." Thanks for the suggestion. What would that do? I'm having the same problem on two different receivers coming from the one DishPro Plus Twin LNB.

What Causes Brief Signal Dropout & Not Locked?

I think the tree problem is a perfect explaination of what I see happening. My problem however is that there are no trees...

What Causes Brief Signal Dropout & Not Locked?

Have DishPro Plus Echostar hardware, and everything has been replaced from the LNBF to the receiver. However I am still having very brief, one second or so, loss of signal incidents - up to 10-12 times an hour. What seems to be unique about it, is that it is HD channels only, and the signal...

Anyone Having Split Second Dropouts on Bell HD Channels?

I found this Sun Outage Calculator and selected the 81.98 W NIMIQ 4 Satellite Position. And at the bottom of the map I put my address in. It came back with sun outage times of around 11:45 AM starting October 7th, and going to October 16th. This was around the days I first noticed the problem...

Anyone Having Split Second Dropouts on Bell HD Channels?

Rod, If I am doing my conversions of time correctly that should be in the range of 13:10 to 13:20 local Eastern DST. That would seem to be in the range of time when there could be interference. One of the worst times I saw dropouts on 1564 however was between 9:00 and 9:30 PM, or way past...

Anyone Having Split Second Dropouts on Bell HD Channels?

Rod, can I bother you to tell me what the gist of it is? I used to belong to that digital home site 6-7 years ago, and asked to have my account closed. As a result the moderator banned me, and now I can't even look at the messages there.

Anyone Having Split Second Dropouts on Bell HD Channels?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm thinking because I've replaced everything at the house, it must be a satellite or Bell problem. Have been checking using Menu 6-1-1 on the satellite feed for the problem channels I've found and others have listed. Some listed below: Station - Number - Satellite -...

Anyone Having Split Second Dropouts on Bell HD Channels?

I tried watching 1053 yesterday PM and got no dropouts over the 30 minutes I watched. However I then watched 30 minutes of the CBC HD 1564 which has been the worst for me, and it was right at the end of the 30 minutes that it dropped out. So, in general the system seems to have good stretches...

Bell 9241 PVR freezing trouble: phone related?

I have a 9241 and do not have any phone line connected to it. The software updates, program guide updates, and subscription changes come via the satellite. The phone line is needed if you want to order pay per view using the channel guide. I consider not being able to do that a good thing!!
