    can someone please answer a few questions about the D* DVR?

    Answer to your last question: Yes, you can organize by date. The R10 is just ok compared to what I'm accustomed to (UTV) but I have several complaints about it and plan to upgrade to the R15 when it comes out.

    DirecTV poised to take on TiVo

    Because for those of us accustomed to a more friendly UI (UTV for me) are aching to have it back with DTV and it appears that the R15 is the only thing coming close to that. I would LOVE to swap out my 1 mo. old R10 for the new one.

    Swap UTV hard drive

    I've read all about upgrading hard drives in the utv but all I want want to do is replace the drive in a working unit with the drive I've got all my recordings on (from a unit with a fried tuner). Is it just a simple swap?

    USAToday article: DirecTv vs TiVo

    I'm very fond of my 30-sec skip but given the other advantages, I suppose one could learn to live with a fast forward button only. It does move 2x as fast as the current model.
