Umm, I havent really read everything in this post so I dont know if it was covered or not but DTV is not going to be going to LEASE ONLY, yes that will be how they will WANT to sell them but you will still have the choice if you ASK/DEMAND to own your equiptment.

Might Want To Try These Two Things. 1.) Uplug Your Receiver And Wait 30 Seconds, Then Plug Back In And When The "hello" Screen Comes Up Push "02468" On Your Remote. This Will Download Any Software Updates Your Receiver May Have Missed. 2.) Go Thru Guided Setup Agian.

I cannot say that he wont loose them, but he shouldnt just like the CSR told him. I dont deal with DNS' on a daily basis so I cannot be positive. I just fill out the forms for the DNS.

D* does actually have more HD programming then any other SAT company. Soon they will be adding about 1,500 more channels to their HD lineup look forward to it. *new 5 lnb dish* <--- thats what its for ( two new sats launched)

You picture quality is going to be effected by the kind of tv you have, the connection method you use to connect it (DVI, HDMI,DVI, A/V) , and if using an Off-Air ANT for HD locals , your distance and signal strength from the tower. The signal meter strength will not give you a better/worse...

You should NOT loose your DNS channels. If you have them and move you should be able to keep them, in effect you should be "grandfathered". You should only loose them if you make and chances to your programming.

Actually the H20 calculates the signal strength about 20% lower not just 10-15. The next download for the H20 should fix that error.

Thats the new HD dish for the MPEG 4 with the two new SAT's that D* launched for the new HD programming. I dont remember the specs right now but I will post em tomarra.
