In a shocking turn of events, AT&T lied

I wish it was limited to just trains going off the rails. I thought this was an AT$T bashing thread anyway.

In a shocking turn of events, AT&T lied

Fortunately, we are still relatively free and have a relatively free market and the ability to vote with our feet. I walked and don't miss the old girl a bit. Guess I should get around to changing my Avatar too.

    The YouTube TV Thread

I liked DirecTV's DVR UI better but think YTTV's DVR back-end is better. Re FF and RW are you using the D-pad or the FF/RW buttons? I was using the buttons and it sucked, but using the Select button to Pause/Play and the Left/Right arrows to RW/FW on the D-pad works great. Left DirecTV in...

In a shocking turn of events, AT&T lied

Compared to her spawn, Verizon and SBC (now AT&T), Ma Bell was a saint. As they said back then, "You could hear a pin drop".

    The YouTube TV Thread

I compared the Superbowl offerings on YTTV Fox streaming , Channels OTA, and Plex OTA through my Shield 2019, Fire Stick 4K, Roku Stick 4K, and OTA on my LG OLED. The OLED OTA won. Weird thing was it said it was receiving 720P so its upscaling must be pretty good. All I can think is my local...

    The YouTube TV Thread

Been with YTTV for a few months now. No complaints. Just had to adjust after being with DirecTV for 23 years. I use a Shield Pro 2019, an LG OLED, an Onkyo AVR, a Harmony Hub, a Logi K600, and have a 1gb fiber connection. The Guide - No issues, I just clicked ahead to Feb. 5. I usually just...

Cord Cutting - which box? Some comparisons

More on Fox's 4K Super Bowl myth: This is the first time the Super Bowl is streaming in 4K resolution, but it won't be true 4K It's kind of like the Atmos soundbar myth. Atmos requires "height" speakers. It adds another dimension to traditional surround left/right, front/back. That being...

Cord Cutting - which box? Some comparisons

Yep. The signal is broadcast in up-scaled 1080P. Most OTA broadcasts are in 720P. The streamers compress it to save bandwidth and it lose quality during decompression. They are selling bridges in Brooklyn too. OTA broadcasts are always better than satellite and cable. Most TV's and DVR's now...

Cord Cutting - which box? Some comparisons

Everything I've read is that it is 1080P up-scaled to 4k. Not true 4K let alone HDR or Vision. The best picture will be achievable over-the-air from a local broadcaster and antenna. The streaming signal will be compressed and delayed.

Cord Cutting - which box? Some comparisons

It supports Windows, Android, and iOS not just TV's. I assume AppleTV is iOS but I don't do fruit. Worked with my FireTV sticks/boxes too. Controls a laptop I have stuck in a cabinet HDMI'ed to AVR and OLED. Supports Shield. Probably even my phone. best thing is it uses dedicated receivers so...
