DISH voted the WORST to work for in the U.S. according to 24/7 Wall Street.

Unfortunately most pollsters have some sort of tilted agenda, one way or the other so the phraseology and the targeted base reflects said agenda

DISH voted the WORST to work for in the U.S. according to 24/7 Wall Street.

Haven't posted in a bit but this really strikes a nerve with me. I am a DNS Technician and this job is by far not for everyone, but I love it. And I'm sure it varies from area to area but when I was dealing with some personal issues last year Dish absolutely bent over backwards to make sure I...

    Dish Police back in action.

Probably an unpopular point of view, but sometime it's not about the upfront $ spent or lost, it's about the deterrent effect. This post is obviously evidence that such practices get people to talk, and perhaps deter some who may or may not chime in from the practice of account stacking. Many...

    Node laying on ground

You sure it's liberty and not Gilbert? It's a moot point because I just double checked the list and those are in fact approved for use so are likely issues in some offices. That is very irritating, that quality of work is completely unacceptable, I've seen claims and TCs called in for much less.

    Node laying on ground

Was this installer internal (DNS) or a subcontractor? He used burial cable which is at least one positive, but those appear to be Gilbert compression fittings (not T&B or PPC), which are not DNS issues and to my knowledge are not an approved component last I checked the list. He also failed to...

Issue with Installation 1000.2 West Arc with hopper and solo node 129W

Try TP 19, if I'm right that 129 should be at almost 20 degrees for you, I'm a little surprised most places further to the northeast don't use EA only spot beams for the locals.

Issue with Installation 1000.2 West Arc with hopper and solo node 129W

That screen you posted makes me cringe, I've seen that on a bad hopper and a bad node, the first 2 tuners seem to have pulled some information of the 129 but the 3rd isn't.

Issue with Installation 1000.2 West Arc with hopper and solo node 129W

I would also verify line of site for the 129 and that you are using a transponder on the point dish screen that is actually in use. On a WA set up I would usually peak off of 119 TP 14, 110 TP 10, most HD setups in this area are EA due to the local spot beams but I think 19 or 21 should work...

Issue with Installation 1000.2 West Arc with hopper and solo node 129W

Don't look at the readings as a percentage as they can go up to 125, for instance in the area I install in Michigan the Dish minimums are set in the 60-75 range for the 110 and 119 (depending on transponder) and in the 50s for the 129. I'm not sure where you're located but that discrepancy...

    Noob questions about install

Assuming there's not some enormous tree out of the picture, that's a great line of sight.

    Noob questions about install

The MoCA connection allows full functionality at all locations as long as one Hopper is connected. In a two Hopper setup I would prefer a HIC because it lessens the processing load on that one Hopper as it distributes the connection itself. Given that you have two TVs a single Hopper and...

    Noob questions about install

I'm not sure where you're HD locals come off of, if they were on the 129 then you could use a western arc setup like you wanted. They could very well be on both arcs so it wouldn't matter. But the further east you get the that 129 can be awfully low in the sky, your local retailer or dish...

    Noob questions about install

    1. Better to have Dish install or local company? I visited a local a few weeks ago. Says they offer all the SW promotions. Benefit is they will be my contact if I have any issues that require a visit. Pros or cons? Im internal so I'm going to refrain from commenting, use your best judgement...
