522 problems, changes channels at random etc.

Does that include all the mpeg artifacts due to the overcompression that they are doing? If so just pick a channel pretty much any channel at any time.

Confused now. Should I get 522?

Well the dual tuners and the Name based recording are the reasons for the 522 over the 510 and honestly I am more than willing to live with the little anoyances and quirks on the 522 for those features. I do alot of prime time recording on both tuners during the week honestly I never watch...

Confused now. Should I get 522?

jtravel That could be due to the way you use your 522 vs the way I use my 522 I use mine it single mode only trying to feed 1 TV in the past people using dual mode were having more problems than people using single mode. Also the more time used on the hard drive the more playback glitches...

Confused now. Should I get 522?

I honestly think that the 522 is a pretty good box both hardware and software wise. Does that mean it has no problems No! I think most of the problems with the 522 is hardware related I do not think it has enough memory and or processing power to prevent the minor audio drop outs which usally...

    Upgrade 508 to 522/625 - worth it

Ok to use a single coax feed you will need a DPP system which is more expensive to than a Dp setup as for decreased picture quality I do not know since I have never seen the DPP setup in operation. The only current dish network receivers that allow the use of OTA signals are the dish network HD...

Help with Superdish 105 how to aim?

Thanks Frank Jr. I have checked and my post is plumb so since 105 is the weakest of the 3 satellites I think I will try to peak it on that one. Also since the locals networks on 105 are the most watched channels a little loss on 110 and 119 would not be much of a loss as the gain on the 105...

Help with Superdish 105 how to aim?

Thanks that was the info I was looking for as to which satellite to peak the dish for. I thought it should be the 110 but was not sure after I peak it on the 110 do you think a slight adjustment to the skew would help any for the other 2 sats especially the 105 which is only in the mid 60's on...

Help with Superdish 105 how to aim?

I am lucky there are no trees in the line of sight for the Satellites I am pointed at any other good tips to help peak the setup. The problem using the receivers signal meter is that its about 60 feet away.

Help with Superdish 105 how to aim?

Ok I have a Superdish 105 what is the best way to optimize the signal strength I have one of those cheap in-line satellite signal meters. Which satellite should I peak the dish on I would think after I have it peaked on one satellite I should tweak the skew to get the best signal on the other 2...

My 522 caller ID works almost all the time its rare that it will have a problem it might be your phone lines or phone company that is the problem. Also do you have DSL maybe that could also be causing a problem with the caller ID. My phone company is SBC and I use a cable modem for internet...

    Two new problems with 522

Unless Dish could figure out how to have there recievers access the internet and retrieve the local weather info then generate the approprate local info and overlay it onto the weather channel when the locals are triggered by the weather channel. However that would be alot of additional...

    Two new problems with 522

The local Cable companies run a computer to generate the local weather info for the weather channel. I do not think it would be feasible for any Satellite provider to provide the same local weather info such as the local cable companies do. They would have to transmit a seperate weather channel...
