    is AAA discount still here?

I will be getting D* this week. What if you sign up with a local installer? Can you still get the AAA discount? He said he's not familiar with it and to call D* service afterwards. I'd rather go with this installer since he's got a good reputation. With D*, who knows who you will get.

    I want to add a 2nd 811!

This is exactly what I want to do as well. So all I have to do is threaten to leave? :D I couldn't get the exec CSR number to work.

    I want to add a 2nd 811!

Has anyone called this number in a while? It tells me it is no longer in service and to call the regular dish number.

    921 and dp34 switch question

I've tried to search already, so please don't flame me. :) Currently I have a DP500 dish, a DP34 switch, a 522, 301, and an 811. I'd like to replace my 301 with the 921. My question is this: should I just add another DP34 switch, or jump to a DP44 switch? And is this something I have...

    Audio problem with tuner 1

I've search and found nothing on this. Has anyone had problems with the audio coming from tuner 1? There is a crackling or popping sound out of all outputs with tuner 1. The optical, RCA, and coax out all have this popping sound. Tuner 2 is fine. Sometime if I unplug it and reset, it will...

Dish almost didn't activate my 522

If you have used Dish's DVRs and switch to cable or at least Time Warner's DVR, you will hate it. I mean, hate it!! The dual tuner was nice, but that was its only plus. It won't even tell you how much recording time you have left. I don't know how many shows were cut off due to inadequate...

811 installed yesterday. My initial impression

I don't have a problem with the PQ of SD shows. My only beef was I couldn't "stretch" the SD signals that were upcast in HD. My TV won't allow stretching in the DVI input. But with the 811, it has that feature and my problem is solved. I actually think the 811 through the DVI port has a...

811 installed yesterday. My initial impression

Not even if you subscribe to Dish locals?

811 installed yesterday. My initial impression

I can tell no appreciable difference in the picture quality and both were with a DVI cable. I do like the 811 better for 3 reasons: 1. Cost 400 vs. 200 2. The ability to "stretch" non-hd OTA signals. What I mean is I was able to get some shows (ie: friends) through the Samsung SIR-t351...

811 installed yesterday. My initial impression

My 811 was installed yesterday after being rescheduled from 12/29. Overall very happy with it, so far. I don't have dim picture problems at least with a DVI connection and the Dolby Digital seems to be working fine if I have it set on DD/PCM. The shows that have DD come in that way and the...

HDTV Input Mode for Sammie DLP

Thanks for the advice. The ABC and CBS feeds this weekend were awesome!! If ABC broadcasts in 720p, do you know what CBS uses? Also why hasn't Fox joined the HD bandwagon?

HDTV Input Mode for Sammie DLP

HDTV newbie I just got a DLP and am still experimenting with it. I'm waiting on the 811 install (surprise), but I do have the Samsung OTA digital tuner. The ABC playoff games today were amazing!! My question is this: what setting should you have the output on your HD tuner/811 for the best...

    CBS HDTV?

But what if you live in a market, San Antonio, that has local channels, but the CBS-HD OTA signal is so weak, I can't get it even though I live within the city? And yes, I've tried many antenna solutions. The CSR I just spoke with told me I would get it, but I think he has no idea what he...

    Newbie OTA HD/SD question.

But will the 811 tune in local OTA SD channels and avoid you having to switch between the antenna and receiver on your tv input? Bascially I'm trying to see if I can cancel my local sub through the satellite if I put up a huge antenna for the HD signals. I know I will probably lose the guide...

Same old story on the 811. No stock till mid Jan.

No, just the 811. I did however buy a new HDTV and was eagerly awaiting a HD tuner. So now I guess I'll go to circuit city and buy a HD tuner, use it for a few weeks until the 811 gets here, then take it back. It'll be interesting to compare the OTA locals with the Samsung vs. the 811.
