Isn't play on TV the same thing as play on PC????? If you choose play on TV the slingbox will then transmit it just like anything else and you can watch in the computer, right?

With remote access you can program and play things from the DVR. With the slingbox you can watch the TV and change channels using the IR blaster that comes with the slingbox. With remote access you can change channels, but you still have to wake up the unit with the slingbox IR blasters - so...
