DISH to Provide SEC Network Nationally for Aug. 14, 2014 Debut

Wasn't the Big Ten network available for everyone the first year? Since then like all the other RSN's.

Dish Networks Fights Dennis Hopper Estate Over 'Hopper' Name

As nelson61 mentioned Microsoft has to change the name of SkyDrive because somehow Murdoch was able to trademark the word Sky. I wonder if they'd have to change to opening of the old superman tv show, can't use up in the sky... any more.

Dish Networks Fights Dennis Hopper Estate Over 'Hopper' Name

If Rupert Murdoch can trade mark "Sky" then anything is possible.

Made the Switch, Lost a Channel

I give the OP enough credit to know if he has a local Ion west channel before he posted.

Made the Switch, Lost a Channel

Believe it or not there are DMA's on DISH that don't even have the big 4 in HD much less having an Ion station. The OP should see if he can get his Western arc setup back and get a wing dish for HD locals pointed at 61.5.

Dirt -- Jonesboro, AR DMA HD locals question

Bluegrassboy75, I'd believe DIRT. There's two choices, either keep your WA setup and add a wing dish pointed to 61.5 to get KAIT and AETN in HD or get an EA setup. I don't know if you have the choice or if it's up to the installer. The Memphis SD channels are on 61.5 transponder 18 spotbeam...

Dirt -- Jonesboro, AR DMA HD locals question

Bluegrassboy75, Maybe now Dish CSR's and tech would set you up with Eastern Arc for free? If you just want to see what's there without getting the proper EA LNB. I've had my western Arc dish and LNB turned towards the eastern arc for a couple of weeks. My dish is mounted where it's simple...

Dirt -- Jonesboro, AR DMA HD locals question

I want to see the Hogs in HD today so I turned the dish to 61.5 and 72. Not tweaked on either but just to give you an idea of comparative signal strength of the spotbeams/ transponders on 61.5. transponder 18 (KAIT) 49 ---transponder 25 (Memphis HD) 51 --- transponder 31 (Little Rock) 52...

Dirt -- Jonesboro, AR DMA HD locals question

Iceberg, Thank you for the info, Dish should do a survey, which would you prefer PTAT in SD or no PTAT but HD. I vote HD. Lifesaver, Yep, I agree. My 1st preference is Little Rock followed by Springfield and last Memphis.( when bad weather has already been through here and the Memphis...

Dirt -- Jonesboro, AR DMA HD locals question

Does the Hopper require all the local networks to be on the same transponder to do it's record the four networks at once thing? If so, are they not turning on the Memphis HD because a feature of the Hopper wouldn't work? If so put KAIT on the Memphis spot. Problem solved. They must have room...

I fault your reading comprehension, if you canceled Dish is what I was referring to.

Advantages of buying your own equipment?

Guess you've missed the stories on here of people getting charged full price for receivers they've shipped back. Seems it took months to get straightened out. I have a 222, at the time it was cheaper for me to buy it then to pay Dish for someone to hook it up. Hooking up a couple of wires wasn't...

Advantages of buying your own equipment?

If you own, you don't have the hassle of sending a receiver back and paying $25 if you leave Dish.

Dirt -- Jonesboro, AR DMA HD locals question

If you don't want to believe that someone that had a DVR (think 722), AEP or whatever all the channels available after AEP was dropped, that's your problem. Dish put up a wing dish pointed at 77 and had the person sign a new 2 year agreement.
