    Winegard Pre amp question

Well, you've got the repack channel changes and (probably in your case) tropospherics, neither of which will be helped by the amplifier.

    OTA antenna combiner

That's great news. The 8-bay bowtie antennas are pretty good with UHF and Hi-VHF but not so much for Lo-VHF. They are relatively good omnis, too. I have the same issues with my ChannelMaster 80 - gets good 360 UHF/Hi-VHF reception in a relatively poor area but Lo-VHF is iffy. I might try a...

    Tv Broadcast signal`s

Ain't gonna happen with TV frequencies anyway. It's not like the old long-wave radio.

    Kudo's to Silicone Dust

Beats the crap out of Amazons (non) support for the Recast. Oh, wait, I forgot, they discontinued it last year!

Only 64% of Households Have a Live Pay-TV Service

Years ago, broadcast TV was free. The only people who had cable TV were those in unfavorable OTA reception areas and, rarely, those who wanted ad-free TV. Today, pretty much everyone pays for ad-riddled broadcast TV surcharges and cable provider ripoffs. Oh, for the old days with a TV antenna...

    How Many Plasmas Going?

I still have three, from 12-18 years old. I would get a modern (LCD, LED, OLED) were it not for my intolerance of "Soap Opera Effect". It just ruins everything I watch and, contrary to general opinion, turning of motion enhancement does not get rid of it. Hopefully, my two 50" Panasonics and...

    What antenna? RI

I use an 8-bay ChannelMaster Extrema 80 antenna. Its the only antenna that came even close to decent reception in my area. It is listed as UHV and VHF-Hi but I get Blue Ridge PBS Roanoke (Channel 3) just fine.

    Repack woes

They couldn't care less about free OTA TV. They want to get paid by the local cable/satellite/internet companies to carry their programming. Who pays for cable when you can get all the local stations over the air?

Paid OTA TV Expanding - How it Impacts Free OTA TV

Its a scam to try to eventually get around the FCC requirement for networks to provide free OTA broadcasts. Thin end of the wedge!

    OLED AND DISH PICTURE QUALITY

I have the same burn-in issue on my two Panasonic Plasma TVs from 2006 (each were ~$4000 at the time). But this happened over ~10 years so I don't think an extended warranty would have helped me. I keep them because I just can't stand the "soap opera" effect on LCD/LED/OLED TVs.

No, Locast is gone forever. See Oct 28 ruling.

Locast Pays Networks $32 Million to Settle Copyright Lawsuit

That's really sad. The networks and cable companies are just greed, money-grubbing maggots!

Nexstar launching Antenna TV spinoff network in September '21

I think there's still room for these old syndicated rerun channels - there's plenty opportunity for people to watch r-rated stuff if that's their pleasure.
