    i would not recommend going with a QAM. i have had experience with one, and it was an absolute nightmare. the manual to set it up is incorrect. we ended up having to make our own set up, and get it working. granted, this was a few years ago. maybe they got the kinks out by now... or not.

    your HR10-250 wont benefit from the ka ability of the slimline. it is not an MPEG4 receiver. also, yes, the settings do vary by dish. round dish points at 101, triple sat dish points at 110, and the slimline points at 101.

    1 3/4 will not work for a slmline. if you can find a couple PVC couplers for 1.5" pipe, you could maybe hollow them out to slide over your current pole, then the slimline will mount right on. the couplers make the outside diamater 2"

    run down to your local hardware, get some pvc couplers for 1 5/8 OD pipe. take your dremel and grind the lip out of the coupler. presto, you now have an adapter that will slip over your 1 5/8 pole, and give you the 2" you need. total spent= $2.

    no problem, a reauth should fix it, thats why when i have to activate an hr20, i make sure the csr stays on the line until everything is working as it should be. by the by.. totally offtopic.. been a member here over 2 years, and just made my first 9 posts... tonight.

    rerun the satellite setup. Menu > Help and Settings > Setup > Satellite > Repeat Satellite Setup. That should fix the problem
