I think I may benefit from moving to Eastern ARC - my locals are SD on 110 but HD on 77 - Does it cost anything or require contract to switch ARCs ?

I am in the Southeast - should I ask about moving to Eastern ARC ?

Maybe a DIRT person will make me a special offer ?

Eight years ago, I started with 501,301,301 A few years ago I added HD and got upgraded to 622,211K but had to keep 301 as they said they would only swap 2 receivers in a contract. So now I am REALLY sick of the 301 - and I wonder what is the best way to get another 211K (or equivalent) ...

Hmm - I had no idea - I have talked to Dish fairly recently and they said HD just was not available for Macon. I must confess I do not know what Dish I have - but I do have a 612 DVR and 211K with eHDD - both HD I guess I could ask them again, but I do get good OTA reception.

Now if you would just carry the locals in HD.... ?

Dish and the local FOX and ABC stations finally settled the fee dispute - just in time for the Super Bowl - imagine that ! :)

Mine does not - it gets stuck at the "searching for satellite" screen

I hate that you cannot change to an OTA channel if you lose the satellites during rain...

That is interesting - I guess margins are tight all around. I am very fortunate that I can get strong local HD OTA.

Local paper quotes the same old story - both sides blame the other, station owners say Dish will not pay, Dish says station owners want many times the going rate. This is getting old - just a few more days until dark.

Local paper here says that on Jan 1 we will lose local FOX and ABC due to Dish dispute. They are lousy SD channels anyway, because HD is not carried. I am lucky because I can easily pick up HD locals OTA but due to terrain many cannot. Direct and Cable are big players here as they both...
