    Hopper 2 Video Resolution?

Thanks, but I get the same disappointing result when bypassing the AVR: 720p looks better than 1080i

    Hopper 2 Video Resolution?

I've had a Hopper with Sling for a few years, connected through an AVR to an LG OLED TV: Hopper outputs 720p -> AVR scales that to 1080p ->TV scales that to 4K I watch mostly broadcast content, occasionally VOD catch-up, never PPV, and I have plenty of non-Hopper Netflix options. I tried...

New NBC in Boston...on the old channel?

Two Dish reps were unhelpful today (Newsflash? Not!). I have an OTA tuner on my Hopper. I can get WBTS on Dish channel 10 and on OTA channel 60. The guide info for Ch 10 is good, and I replaced my old Ch 7 timers with Ch 10 ones. But the guide info for OTA Ch 60 is all multi-hour blocks that...

WTB: Poster of the electromagnetic spectrum, w/ Ka & Ku bands called out

Thanks. That's a little more regulatory and a little less science/physics than I'd hoped, but it might do.

WTB: Poster of the electromagnetic spectrum, w/ Ka & Ku bands called out

Didn't see anything on Wikipedia that fit my description. Did you?

WTB: Poster of the electromagnetic spectrum, w/ Ka & Ku bands called out

Maybe not the best subforum, but I figured some technically inclined reader might be able to assist me. I'm looking for a good-sized (at least 3'W x 2'H) poster of the ELF to Gamma radiation spectrum that has enough detail to call out satellite communication bands. I'm thinking of an...

    3D Comes To DISH Network

Thanks, Scott. So the Revue shouldn't have any hardware difficulty to pass through the frame-compatible signal, though it might need some software work to get the metadata from the STB to the TV. Seems promising, though I wonder where adding 3D support sits in Logitech's list of possible...

    3D Comes To DISH Network

I've seen lots of discussion of 3D video formats. For example: Frame Packing 1080p/24 (via 3D Blu-ray) 720p/60 (video games) Frame Compatible (via STBs) 1080i/60 Side-by-Side 1080p/24 Side-by-Side or Top-and-Bottom 720p/60 Side-by-Side or Top-and-Bottom DirecTV is using some...

    GoogleTV

Got no useful info from today's CSR. He confirmed that they can't project a shipping date, just acknowledge a date after the fact. He also confirmed that he has no way of knowing whether any Revue units have shipped to any customers. The Dish site still reports not-yet-shipped, with no...

    GoogleTV

I've spoken with 8 CSRs from the first order to the latest helpful guy who sadly had no info but sent a promised follow-up email. I've been disconnected 3 times; twice by CSRs who promised "I won't disconnect you". I've been told it would ship Friday, didn't ship Friday, would ship Saturday...

    GoogleTV

Classic Dish BS Around lunchtime Friday, I try to log on to the Dish store to order the Revue, but even after a few minutes, the webpage won't load. So I call the 800#, find a CSR who tells me "since you're such a great customer, I'm going to waive the shipping cost -- I'm even going to send it...

    AMC HD on...

I have a D300 aimed at 61.5 and a D500 aimed at 110/119. I'm not willing to sacrifice the 61.5, as it has local Boston HD channels. If I want AMC HD, I think I need to see the 72.7 or 129. Not that AMC HD, alone, is worth changing out my hardware, but which dish would I replace? And with what?
