    I was trained to add extra cable on the run from the dish (50,75,100 feet) whatever needed to attenuate the signal to ensure the signal level numbers are in the correct range to ensure a proper install. Here's my question... Can i add an attenuator/filter to my line to accomplish the same...

    Holy crap man you're right. went grab an rc66 and it worked first time. it started to download the old software of course now the window is gone. that's strange, I've forced updates with my rc73s before. pretty sure that was my problem. thanks. I'll have to try again later.

    quick question... last night the new firmware version was streaming in green, at least it appeared to be. I attempted a force update several times but never got anything. anyone have an idea why? I have an hr44-200.

    you definitely have a problem. a technician will have to come out and determine the cause. it could be several things.

    it's possible you have an issue with your system but most likely it's the same issue most everyone else is having. it's on ongoing issue. I'm a technician and it's not fixable. trust me. I've completely rebuilt systems, including my own, to no avail.
