I would think you'd only have to run traffic from the receiver through a US proxy. ?I'm not sure that's worth the hassle or possibility that something could wrong.

Basically D* considers all HR20 to HR24 the same but they do have improved specs with the HR24 being the best. If you get one from D* they are going to pick whatever model is next on the shelf and send it to you. The only way to guarantee you get an HR24 is to pay for one from a retailer.
