    It's yours

I just got back from a trip and the receiver connected to my HDTV is no longer functioning. :shocked It won't even turn on at all - totally dead. My second receiver in the bedroom is still functioning fine for OTA. Both are leased units. What else could cause the box to go totally dead and is...

    VOOM gone OTA here

I reported earlier this morning that my leased STB was dead and it was. Now I returned this evening and the OTA tuner is working again. I have not disconnected the LNB or any other connections. I guess I'll continue with my second receiver boxed up until we can find out more.

    VOOM gone OTA here

I was watching HD locals last night until 1 am. This morning the receiver is totally dead. No OSD no channels nothing. So it appears they sent some sort of kill signal. I did not disconnect or change anything. I simply left it as installed.

    Voom and MEdia Center PC's

Can you elaborate on using anamorphic settings on the STB to improve Sage captures? I've just started using Voom and am trying to improve my Sage recordings as much as is possible. I was gratified to see I could use my single Hauppauge PVR250MCE to get both the Voom programming and OTA...

So now that voOm looks like its going to survive what does it need to change?

I would love to see a receiver with IEEE1394 connectivity. Wasn't this mandated by FCC for the cable providers? Serial or USB control would be nice too! A growing number of HTPC users who would prefer to use Sage TV or other PVR software are stuck with 480i S-Vid captures with the current...

    VOOM in Portland, Oregon Area

Looks like a "T" when it's mounted on the mast. It has two "fins" on it with slots in them. They look like they slide outward from the center enclosure which is a rectangular box that is slightly larger on one side, kinda like an airfoil shape to it. I went up today and tried to rotate it to...

    VOOM in Portland, Oregon Area

Thanks for the welcome, I feel a bit like I did in back in high school. I fell in in love with a beautiful girl my junior year who then moved away. I'm happy I got to experience Voom, but it looks like I'll just begin to enjoy it before I lose it forever! :( I don't see anything on the...

    VOOM in Portland, Oregon Area

LOL that's my house. I just had it installed last month! This is my first DBS ever. I just got an HDTV in January. My sig quality is 95 most days. I've had some weird pauses on the OTA stuff and KOIN won't come it at all, but other than that I've been ecstatic with all the commercial free HD...
