if I moved to 1 HR44 and 3 HR24, that's 9 tuners. I'd need two leads from SWM 16. I'd need a coax for power to energize the swm 16. Unless, I used power on one of the two leads coming from SWM16. Currently, I have one coax coming from dish into my house.

actually, it's a problem for me. I have one lead coming off the dish and entering my home. The 4way splitter is in my crawl space with the power inserter in the crawl space. I have no desire to plumb an additional two wires out to the dish (one for power and one for 1/2 of the tuners)...

Another idea..... What about swapping one of my receivers with an hr44 and keep three hr24s. However, shutting off a tuner in each of my three DVRs to keep the limit at 8. Rewiring for an SWM 16 would be a pain. Crazy? Thoughts?

What about reboot sightings? Do you have to reboot the HR44 more than the HR24?

Thanks for the input. Probably will just stay where I am at. If I go with a Genie and any number of HR24s, I'll still have to manage recordings on multiple units. The goal was to get away from that. Thanks again.

Thanks for the comments and thoughts. I agree I'd be losing space and tuners, however, the quantity of shows we record has gone down considerably. The benefit of having one centralized location and all clients being able to manage that one location is very appealing. I was mostly concerned...

perfect. thanks for the help! yep, all of my unused 1x8 ports are terminated. without them, I am sure the reflections on the coax will reduce signal margin significantly.

I ordered my 21.0 from tech support. I told them that my existing remote doesn't work with my television. They are sending me a 21.0 for FREE! we'll see what happens....... supposed to arrive in 4 days.

I had these back in February for about 2 weeks, now they are gone. When can we expect them back?
