Thanks for the workaround and the disappointing news. As a former programmer, I don't think it would be that difficult to implement, especially since the speech-to-text interpreted my wishes correctly.

I'm just leaning the remote. If I say "Watch channel 4.01" my Hopper 3 goes to channel 401, not 4.01. How do I get it to go to channel 4.01? The voice-to-text at the bottom of the screen understands me correctly.

Actually, my HDMI 2 settings are quite close to yours except that I had the contrast enhancer on. 2 different 4K Blu-ray players have fantastic pictures with these settings. But plugging in the Hopper to the same HDMI port displayed washed-out colors. I guess I'll have to wait for the next...

Does Dish have a 4K test channel with color bars? I struggled to get my Sony to recognize 4K. When it finally did, the colors were washed out. So I'm looking for a 4K program that I don't have to pay for in order to finish setting up the Hopper 3 & TV.

I switched to Americas Top 200 + Veterans Package in November of 2019. The last movie certificate I received was in December of 2023. That's about 4 years.

There may also be some additional seconds added when Dish does their re-encoding from standard HD to HD-Lite (1440x1080p).

I was told by a CSR that I reed to have an installer add a "reflector" in order to receive the channels in the Stars & Stripes package. I already have a dish pointing at 110, 119 & 129. What does this "reflector" do?

Apparently the Olympic Channel is not free. Can't find anything on the Dish website as to how to get it. It might be on their site, but I have a hard time finding things there.

Make sure your UPS does not put out square waves. These models are OK for lighting, but not electronic equipment. Use a UPS with a "modified sine wave" or "true sine wave" output. Even "modified" might be iffy depending upon the quality of the power supply in the receiver.

Positive note! There is now a symbol in the guide that indicates if the program is blacked out in my area. I don't have to go to the channel and then be presented with the dreaded blacked-out message box. Or has that symbol always been there and I just haven't been paying attention?
