    Another comment on Dish Installers

Don't blame the installers, blame Dish Network. It's their responsibility to see that their employees are properly trained, equipped and up to date on the latest channel information. Hell, I'm a retailer, and I get way more information from this forum than I do from Dish Network.

    Install Questions

They should have installed a Dish 1000 with a 942 and 322. That setup would meet your needs.

    why no ground?

It's common practice to diplex TV 2 out back down the same line that the signal comes in on. How do you expect to get the TV 2 signal to TV 2? Run a direct wire from the 522 to TV 2? You could do that, but it's extra UNNECESSARY work. And it's not a good idea in a brand new house. If you were...

    Problems with 625

Ah yes. There's that familiar "I ain't runnin' no phone wire" attitude.

    vmc satellite agreement

You're responsible for what you sign. PERIOD. Read it before you sign it. If you don't like what it says, don't sign it. PERIOD. I'll tell you what the attorney generals office is gonna say, just what i said above.

That pretty much sums it up.

    522 Remote Codes

You can do a code search on your remote to find the code. Here's how: Turn your TV on, press and hold the TV button on your remote until all the lights at the top flash, press the large red power button, press channel up until your TV turns off. If you go past the code on accident, just hit...

    wall fishing

To clarify, I sell all of my installs and it's part of my sales pitch to include running all necessary lines. So I make plenty of money on a job because I'm getting paid for the sale AND the install. I don't let greed stop me from making a sale and making money that I otherwise would not have made.

    wall fishing

Yes, if need be. I mean really, how hard is it to tie a phone wire along with your coax to a chain and do it all in one pull? It's still just one wall fish. In that case I use a wall plate that has a coax barrel and a phone jack all in one plate.

    wall fishing

I installed a 2-story house on a slab Saturday which required 5 lines. 2 wires downstairs, 3 upstairs. Because the house was on a slab, i ran the 2 lines downstairs around (underneath the siding) and had to take them in thru the exterior walls. I wall fished all 3 lines upstairs, one of them was...

quad shield helps if you are near any transmissions that may cause interference.

    Multi-unit dwellings???

Well, yes. But the wording has to be correct. Check with Dish Network but I believe the correct wording would be an "access charge". In other words, she can't resell the Dish Network programming, but she can charge an "access charge".

    wall fishing

It amazes me that an installer won't do a wall fish unless he gets paid for it. Sure, sometimes it is harder, but more often then not, I can run a wire thru an attic or crawl and wall fish it quicker than wrapping a wire around the outside of a house. Plus it looks better.

Needing help with Dish Network problem

In many condos and townhouses in my area, the wires will go throught the attic or the crawl (if there is one) of your individual condo. The installer should be able to feed the wires from the dish to the attic/crawl and tie into them there. THis is usually the case, but not always. If it was...
