I've just completed the Carbon UI update on the HWS, and read several posts here and elsewhere saying the ethernet transfer from HWS to H3 worked. Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

How do I know if I have the carbon UI? My UI still appears the same as it always has. Nevermind, I found the thread on how to update it. Going now. Without a solid answer on the DVR transfer working I'm buying an EHD.

Is it possible to transfer my recordings to my new hopper 3? Getting the upgrade tomorrow afternoon, and I have several shows I'd like to not lose. I don't have an external drive at the moment, never needed one, but I'll go buy one tonight if it's possible.

How would some HWS have a different UI than others? Mine updates everynight, no change to anything I see.

Your hws doesn't have those options regarding power on channel.

There are no leftover timers for History2, and I have a HWS, no 3 yet, working on the upgrade. I had forgot about the lockout, that should solve the problem. Thanks!

Yea, through the integrator. Roger that!.. Main reason for wanting to do it myself is the time-frame of installs, and the weight of the last guy that was here crawling around in my attic. I own a business 30 miles from home and can't afford to waste half a day on the installation window..

Thanks, I managed to find that and the relevant PDF. So based on the layouts in the PDF, I should only need to add the integrator, a few feet of cable, and swap out the 2way splitter for a 3way splitter... If it's all actually the way I remember it being installed... Thanks again!
