Best source for 4K UHD content?

Of course by the time you can afford some of this gear and media, the ears that your bifocal temples (the official term for the long arms on eyeglasses) rest on are probably not what they once were.;) Hard media often gives you choices of surround technology (Dolby vs DTS) and sometimes...

Notification e-mails are missing the synopsis

Has anyone else noticed that the synopses are missing from the notification e-mails? Normally the e-mail has the thread title (that doubles as a link to the post) followed by the text of the post and a thread link button. Now the thread title is followed immediately by the thread button.

I've tried all four styles and the related threads haven't appeared since Scott said they were gone. I'm using Firefox on three different platforms: Debian, Windows and Android.

    Greyhound

Here's a couple of thoughts: For the extra money, you could buy a non-Apple streamer and have enough money left over to pay for AppleTV+ annual subscription. In that way you can also avoid having to buy a $$$ remote to cover the functional shortcomings of Apple's remote. There's a lot of buzz...

    Greyhound

I would expect that it would be at least the normal duration of a theater run. I'll bet that Sony has some stuff in their contract about revenue expectations and being an online service, Apple has only itself to blame if it doesn't do well.

The trailer says it is exclusive to Apple TV+ so your viewing may be a ways out.

    Nascar 2020

Would you drive with blinders on? The typical night vision binocular set has a rather narrow field of view (due to having to supply its own light source). I'm not even big on electronic rear-view devices. Real time is awfully important at 195mph. You might as well just put the drivers in the...

I was not able to find an option for this in my preferences. The flip side of this concern has actually been bugging me lately: resurrecting old threads to talk about issues that are sort of the same but are pretty obviously new and independent issues.

WB Network programming on Canadian over-the-air broadcasters (1998)

If you're going to mandate the condition that the context of the discussion is 1998, you should stick to it. It is hard to do because the past is the past and in the the case of commercial television production and distribution has very little relevance in today's TV marketplace.

    Nascar 2020

I can't say I remember seeing any NASCAR races that weren't flag to flag; mostly on broadcast TV. The races with long rain delays may have been an exception. My interest in NASCAR waned as the cars became race cages with league-mandated sheet metal rather than something that resembled a car...

    More SiriusXM channel changes

I'm not sure what the impetus behind listening to relaxation sounds and music is while driving. There's enough drivers out there that seem to be asleep at the wheel without a radio adding its sleep-inducing contribution.

Are their Sirius or XM radios that can stream from the Internet or are you muddying the waters by injecting streaming apps into the conversation?

    Free XM/Sirius

I would guess that if the car radio wasn't on when the initial signal came down, it may have missed the authorization ping. You can try a "refresh" from your online account or wait for the next hit to come along while your car radio is on. It seems reasonable to assume that the receiver isn't...

    Free XM/Sirius

There's a disclaimer that some older radios may not be capable of receiving the free preview. I'd imagine this includes Sportster, Stratus and Stiletto era radios and car radios of similar vintage.

    Realistic TRC-453

People who are searching for "new in box" aren't looking for boxes that have been crushed. They're usually looking for packaging that is in brand new condition as well. You can get a good modern CB radio with SSB for under $150 so that doesn't leave a lot of pricing room for '80s tech.

    Realistic TRC-453

The TRC-453 (Catalog 21-1566) appeared in the 1988 and 1989 Radio Shack general catalogs. Including Single Side Band, it was their most expensive offering. See more at Radio Shack Catalogs It is still useful today but probably not worth a third of what it originally listed for ($189.95).
