Not true. I use Dish OTA, or did until recently, and had an EPG.

Sat locals = guide data OTA locals = no guide data (on DISH)

I sincerely hope it is the Joey 4 and NOT the 4K Joey, which cannot decrypt HDR so you can't watch any of Dish Network's programming on the 540 channels. Unless you record them on the Hopper then play them on the 4K Joey where they will probably be washed out colors and dim picture on the 4K...

There really isn't much need for an ATSC 3.0 dongle for the Hopper3. All your major local channels will be carried over satellite. The ATSC dongle is merely a gratuity from Dish for OTA reception as a backup , but now there is the streaming option. And their current ATSC tuner isn't that great.

My reaction: sure, why not? insane that they wnat to buy the entire pie, when WBD is prepping to split. If it was me, I'd wait for them to split, let Zazlev 2x the cost of HBO Max like he promised, and then buy them off the bankruptcy pile for 10c on the dollar.

I think that the issue is DRM and making it work with any attached Joeys though Scott may know more about that than I do.

Station ownership is the issue. We're down to just a handful of station group owners and they are slowly consolidating local programming to their regional hubs. God forbid something newsworthy happens in your town and they need "boots on the ground" to cover it.
