From the way you explained it, the guy was just doing his job as he was trained. They need to be sure it's really broken before shipping you out a new one, they have no way of knowing your level of expertise. You want really bad tech support, try Dish network. OMG....

I have a slingbox I got from Dish Network (red) when I was with them for a few days. Now I am back with directv and wondering if I can use that slingbox with directv.... I tried plugging it into the back of the HR34, but when going onto Slingbox's website it's not finding it on the network...

So I have an HR24 and HR34... I assume I need an antenna to get the channels gone?

It sounded very appealing to me, which is why I got it. But after using it for a few days, I realized it wasn't for me. Having the HR-34 and 5 tuners is much better in my opinion. I think they could have done the 5 tuners, but they wanted to make something different than what directv already...

Regardless, during the day, you can only record 3 things at a time and you have to watch one of them.

If everyone says it works that way, hard to argue with everyone. I only had it installed for the days and three tech support specialists said your method doesn't work that way. But it is new and maybe they were still learning too. Either way,I have 9 tuners in my just and no complaints.

Anything recorded with PTAT goes into the PTAT folder and only stays for 8 days.. Do you agree with that? If you have PTAT setup and then record a show that is one of the PTAT shows (separately), it counts as your second tuner, leaving only one free. Correct?
