Self-install??
So I'm assuming after everything is setup I call D* with my account information and they'll activate the new receivers and deactivate the old ones ? Will I need any special tools to align the dish?- subagon

Sorry to hijack the thread, but it's related... I have a 7 year old system (DirecTV) that I installed myself. It looks like I have a similar pole setup like videojanitor, large pole way back in the south 40 :D It's time to upgrade, but I've never upgraded any of my equipment before. What's...- subagon

Installation instructions
I'm just a self reliant kind of guy. I enjoyed installing the old system and think I should be able to do so again. Also if I do it myself I'll know it's been done to meet my standards and should it need repairing I could do that too. My only worry is the added complexity of the new dishes...- subagon

Installation instructions
Six years ago I installed my own DIRECTV system. Based on what I've been reading, the new systems are more advanced and harder to install. First, is it still possible to acquire and install the stuff yourself? Second, are installation instruction available on-line anywhere? Thanks, Mike- subagon
