No I just did 56 point calibration myself and I also used DVE. for 1600 $TV , I can't justify to pay 300$ more for calibaration .Hopefully I will get plasma or a better display technology in 2-3 yrs. :smug

I agree but the picture in my toshiba 57h83 feels more sharp compared to component, in my IMHO. DVI Colors are a little bit washed out

My Liteon 5005 DVD recorder picks up only SD version via S-video. It is not in the 16:9 format.

I got Liteon DVD recorder 5005, it records DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, Audio CD , VCD on CDR as well as CDRW, but not DVD-RAM. But are u guys able to record in 16:9 format, it records in SD format in SD TV it looks great but it's ok in HD TV. I also I was trying to play DVD+rw in my old mintek...

I started using program planner to record programs in my new Liteon 5005 DVD recoreder, it worked fine for 2 days and then it is not working properly. Has anybody having the same problems any fixes? :confused:

Got it called voom last night, Boxing in HD, dreaming about it last night seeing the klichko and brewster fight on HBO, 1$ definitely worth it. Ya it will be in HD

I did notice this when I was trying to watch ABCFAM channel, just swithed to another channel, didnt realize this was a bug , I thought it was something to do with transmission

Exactly I noticed the same bug too , but good thing it wont lock up STB, u dont need to reboot. Just go to next channel and comeback then the channel works fine. It is a bit annoying but definitely better than STB locking up :)

I set my STB to auto ( all lights lit using red button), now I can adjust the theater wide stretch of toshiba when i watch SD, even when my input is DVI, STB automatically switches to 480, 720 and 1080 format very well and I use toshiba wide format which is very good for SD channels

First 2 days I had like 4-5 lockups, then I have not had one also. But I have been very carefull. I dont flip the channels that many times , I just browse the program guide using up down buttons and select the channel through that.

U can use the stretch mode for 4:3 SD transmission in voom settings, u will get full screen in 16:9 TV screens and it definitetly prevents burn in. But u may not like the picture as voom stretch mode is not that great

You can stretch the SD channels through the settings as mentioned above but the stretch format is not great like the Toshiba RPTV, the one I have, so I still havent tried S-video out for only SD transmission, One may be able to use stretch modes of the TV

Same here I have been checking signal strength in the mornings and it used to be 30s and 40s, this morning it was 56 and 60 so I guess they must have done something to fix the probem

My toshiba 57H83 wont let me use strectch modes, as the signal is in 1080i. U can set the voom box settings to stretch mode but it is not as good as toshiba's stretch modes. Check this threadlinkified

I am in neighbouring county san bernardino, but I am at an altitude of 3500Ft . I am getting 60 signal strength in the afternoon and night times, but morning it drops to high 30s to 40s. But so far I am pretty happy with HD transmission. I hate the remote and receiver though ,very buggy.

Last night I compared to DVI and component video inputs, DVI picture quality by far much better softer and smoother, colors are a little dull but the quality is so much better. I would stick with DVI for now.

That's waht I thought,but I love the toshiba wide screen 1 format for SD transmisson and it is a pain to adjust using "delicate darling" VOOM remote. :p

I am pretty sure I am using 1080i as my TV didnt support 720p , I get no picture only audio if select 720p, any way I will try it again tonight

Hitachi ships 400 GB HD Wont that be great to slap two of these in a VOOM DVR, that will be some 100 hrs of HD programming . Hope V* will work on the DVRs faster Here is the link :yes

I get LA channels like 4 NBC and 7 ABC and KCAL 9 and it says no signal

My toshiba 57h83 wont let me adjust the picture size like wide 1 2 and 3, I know u have options in the voom box but it is not doing the right job like toshiba does any suggestions. It says not available, I have connected my TV with both DVI as wells as component and for both feeds it says the same,
