That seems to be the case.

    Olympic Opening Ceremony 4K

NBC OTA is broadcasting the Olympic opening ceremony in 1080 HD at 2 PM and repeating it at 8 PM. Peacock is also showing the opening ceremony at 1:40 PM and 8 PM in 4K HDR 5.1 I am assuming that Peacock is not allowing Dish to broadcast the Opening Ceremony in 4K HDR. I am disappointed since...

    What Snow?

On the other side in mid-Michigan, we've had 6" of snow since Wednesday night. I spent 2 hours yesterday, and just finished 2 hours of snowblowing this morning. The stuff this morning was much worse, as it was heavy and wet. Temps are finally back in the low 30f's here. After about a month of...

    How things have changed

On Demand streaming prices may be be rising faster than vMVPDs, but you also are arguably getting more for your money, especially now as more sports become available. Based on the what the people I know who are still on Spectrum cable pay, I do not believe on-demand streaming prices are going...

    How things have changed

There is no way it is near $100. To receive the majority of content from Broadcast/Cable Channels, you need- Hulu/Disney $20 a month /with ESPN $35 Peacock $15 a month Paramount+ $12 a month So, only $47-62 a month, plus commercial free, 4k and a lot more content, less if you chose the with...

    What Snow?

Only a dusting of snow here so far this season. It's not looking good for snow over the next couple of weeks.

    How things have changed

Yes, and you still have the equipment fees that add a good chunk of the cost of the package on top of it.

    Big ATSC 3.0 Update

My feeling is that ATSC 1.0 is going to be around for a while. The Nextgen coalition want the FCC to sunset ATSC 1.0 broadcasts by 2028 in major markets but I don’t believe the FCC will do that. They are more likely to allow broadcasters to turn off their ATSC 1.0 simulcast at their own...

    How things have changed

Cable still goes up, but Streaming is rising Faster, I believe.

    How things have changed

So you are only talking about vMVPD's I guess. So they went up about $65...what cable/sat service has not matched or exceeded that in the same time frame?
  16. Jimbo

    How things have changed

Sure it can .... Streaming started around $35, now its up to Close to $100, which is right up there with Cable. Nice thing about Streaming, is sometimes it travels with you ... :)

Space X to Merge with EchoStar?

Yep, launch 1,000 LEO satellites at once! Wait 3-4 years between launches into one orbital shell… Meanwhile, SpaceX has been putting Starlink v1 and v2 satellites into different orbits 20-60 at a time every couple of days!

Space X to Merge with EchoStar?

Rocket shortage? Use a SLS! 🤣
  23. b4pjoe

    How things have changed

That can never happen as long as cable/sat is also raising their prices. Cable/Satellite will never look better.
  24. FTA4PA

    Big ATSC 3.0 Update

If they get there way it will be very soon. They want ATSC 1.0 out of the way so they can force ATSC 3.0 (with DRM intact) down our throats. :(

    How things have changed

Isn't all of this Expected, afterall the whole world knows about streaming ... not really News anymore. Then again when Streaming prices continue to climb, it may make Cable/Sat look better, remembering the Older group that don't want to change providers, they want what they already know...
