    Everyone Else But DISH!!!

How deep are a BILLIONAIRE'S pockets? Probably deeper than yours or mine. Why are you apologizing for a billionaire?

Same can be said for the YES Network - True? Remember, while DirecTV subs CAN get WGN at least in SD for the moment, DISH subs DON'T get even a sniff of YES. And as said by me many times before, I can't understand how Charlie (and Charlie alone in NY) can't come to terms with YES. I tuly...

BTW, the Mets - with the 3rd highest payroll (highest in the NL) didn't make it either IIRC. So, are they are also ruining baseball, but not by as much as the Yankees?

During the season, there is nothing better - that's why I prefer YES-HD over most other channels. Off-season, I am still a baseball fan though, and like the hot-stove stuff.

Guess what, I still am watching VOOM reruns. Don't forget where I live (CABLEVISION country), mostly everyone has cable, I have lots of friends these days with HD on CABLEVISION, when I get a chance I flip thru VOOM. Still not impressed with the programming BTW. On another note, not nearly...

I have watched it everyday since it has been on - Hot Stove, Don Larsen's Perfect Game, replays of the Dodger/Phils from this years playoffs. Great PQ - they are converting old Worls Series to HD, I think this network is a keeper. During the baseball season they will show an exclusive game...

You have stated that we debated MLB 2 years ago. NEVER HAPPENED. Ok, you're not lying - are you hallucinating. Leave me out of your converstaion please, until you can show that I had that 'debate' with you. Until then, move on. Back on topic please (starting with me).

vampz, you don't have to answer my request for EVIDENCE now, please send it along when you get home from work. You have lied about having a discussion with me 2 years ago (YOUR REVISIONIST HISTORY), and obviously your lack of ability to provide this proof has you doing the dance monkey dance -...

well vampz, you did provide evidence that your claim of DISH turning down MLB was based on any 'dramatic' price increase IS INCORRECT. Rather, according to the President of DISH NETWORK in testimony before Congress, said the hold-up was over - GUESS WHAT. Ownership of MLB Network, and that...

...is what you said in your post above that I would like to see even a shred of CONCRETE EVIDENCE from: "in case you don't remember your history, D* two years ago was going for EI exclusively and drove the bidding costs sky-high which was why Charlie threw his hands in the air over the whole...

Actually - I have gone back. You weren't even an active posting member of this site 2 years ago. A member, but not one making posts at satguys until something happened to you somewhere else. For example, in the linked threads you have provided here from that time-frame, it's funny but YOU...

This post begs a question, since you seem to want to read the actual contract BEFORE you say you would know the facts - yet you post things here WITHOUT having read the contract or knowing those very same facts. What exactly was the cost to DISH in the expired contract, and how much did it go...

My comment was just in response to the mention Charlie made that the MLB network wouldn't have enough viewers to merit bandwidth. I am not knocking the NHL channel, but will bet any amount that the baseball network will have far higher ratings than the hockey network.

You tell me if the following is implied or specific: In a deal that may be copied by other sports league owned channels, MLB tied carriage of the MLB Network to the ability to carry the popular out of market MLB Extra Innings package. In return, cable and satellite providers were offered a...

No - I'm not saying it was gravy. It is part of the negotiated contract. The companies that signed on originally (and DISH had a chance to do so) are PART-OWNERS of MLB Network as well. Just take the time to read and educate yourself, the contract info has been posted 5 or 6 times in this...

Again, it was part of the contract negotiated in March of 2007, which was open to ALL of the incumbent providers of MLB-EI when the previous contract expired after the 2006 baseball season. It has not changed a bit. Catch your breath and take a moment to read the link below...
